Trend watch autumn-winter ‘10

1.Leather: Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton has kicked the Avengers Mrs Peel cliché and demonstrated just how womanly and flattering a full-skirted leather dress can be, especially with a contrasting bodice of tweed.

3.Knits: Knitwear is big this autumn. Karl Lagerfeld introduced yeti Style boots with a Chanel suit for his Chanel show in Pais, which also featured icebergs from Sweden.

4.Capes: Just park those images of Mary Poppins and prissy nannies in thick lisle tights — the caped crusaders of 2010 wear theirs with attitude, and over leather or suede shorts if they have their way.
